Kaleidoscope #652

I, myself, am made entirely of flaws, stitched together with good intentions.

Below is the original photo used to create this image. I was in heaven when I took a lunchtime walk around the capital grounds in Richmond, VA and found this vibrant flower bed. It was hard to focus in on just a few blooms, so you’ll probably see more of these in future posts. No special lighting or retouching, just a snap from my smart phone.

Kaleidoscope #651

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming “Wow! What a Ride!”
― Hunter S. Thompson, The Proud Highway: Saga of a Desperate Southern Gentleman, 1955-1967

Below is the original photo used to create this image. I found this interesting bush in the decorative planter outside my office building in downtown Richmond, VA. No special lighting or retouching, just a snap from my smart phone.
